Introduction

In our daily lives, we encounter situations where we make or wish for changes to make hearing more
comfortable or better for us. This accompanies us our whole life.
It does not matter whether we have normal hearing or hearing loss.

Among other things, background noise, conversation partners and the design of the environment have
an influence on our hearing.

For example, we change the volume of the television to make it more pleasant to hear. Or we turn down the radio in the background and create a quiet environment in order to concentrate better or to
follow a conversation more effortlessly.
We make many of these changes without giving them much thought.
For example, we turn towards our conversation partner or reduce the distance to him.
If the listening situation cannot be changed, we may avoid it (e.g. do not go to the theater) or leave it.
At an appointment, event or meeting, we choose our place so that we understand best.
With this survey we want to investigate how often people encounter such situations and how they change their environment.
