The TDC (TSO-DSO Coordination) market is a future flexibility market being developed by AEM, Axpo, BKW, CKW, ewz, Groupe E, Primeo Energie, Romande Energie, St. Galler Stadtwerke, and Swissgrid. Its goal is to enable flexibility service providers (FSPs) to offer grid-supporting services to both distribution system operators (DSOs) and the transmission system operator (TSO) through structured market-based mechanisms. It is designed to further unlock the value of decentralized flexibility and improve grid efficiency. With the growing challenges for grid stability and increasing grid bottlenecks, the TDC market will provide a framework for fair, transparent, and coordinated procurement of flexibility from distributed resources such as batteries, heat pumps, EVs, or PV.
