The Role

As a Cloud Security Architect at SurveyMonkey, you will help define the cloud security strategy for our public cloud deployment. The Trust & Security team will be at the center of our expansion into AWS, working closely with the Cloud Engineering team, guiding engineers with best practices as they enter the Cloud. We're looking for the right person to help with the following:

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Trust & Security leadership to guide the Cloud Security strategy
  • Interpret Information Security requirements, Policies, and Standards to help ensure delivery of secure solutions
  • Ensure compliant design in alignment with HIPAA, PCI, and Privacy Regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Design, develop and implement security controls in AWS environments
  • Leverage automation to build and manage security systems, infrastructure, and applications
  • Collaborate with Security Operations to deploy, support, and monitor security of the environments
  • Lead improvement in security automation of the infrastructure through tooling and process
  • Take part in projects such as integrations of acquisitions, to ensure the proposed and implemented architecture is in alignment with security requirements
  • Mentor and coach the Trust & Security team on cloud security practices and solutions

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of network protocols and common services
  • Experience with security monitoring tools
  • Experience in AWS, including but not limited to IAM, GuardDuty, WAF, Shield+, EC2, CloudTrail, CloudWatch
  • Experience with implementing well architected environments in AWS
  • 5+ years of Cloud Security experience
  • 3+ years of AWS experience
  • Public cloud automation experience (Python is a plus)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI, HIPAA)
